Job Content
You will be responsible for providing basic and advanced respiratory care services to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities in the cardiopulmonary system. You will be expected to evaluate diagnostic results, plan and provide therapeutic interventions, emergency services and perform special procedures in the Intensive Care Units. These services will assist physicians in the diagnosis, rescue and management of patients with cardiorespiratory diseases and related disorders. Some of the respiratory therapy procedures that you will need to perform include routine and emergency management of patients ventilated on mechanical ventilators, any cardiopulmonary resuscitations in the ICU and beyond, endotracheal intubations and extubations, non-invasive ventilator management and mask fitting, arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, assistance in bronchoscopy procedures, routine chest physiotherapy for secretion clearance etc. You will also be expected to participate in daily ward rounds with the medical & nursing team to review, discuss and formulate appropriate respiratory therapy care plans for the patients. Other duties include providing education and training to other members of the healthcare team, students and patients, as well as basic maintenance and troubleshooting of any RT equipment. You will also be expected to contribute towards continuous quality improvement in the department. Respiratory Therapists with experience in clinical, quality, or educational research, will also be expected to lead and conduct research endeavors within the department and beyond. Respiratory Therapists with home care and chronic ventilatory care experience will also be highly valued for this position.

 Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy
• Team player, possess good interpersonal and communication skills
• Open-minded, respectful and thrives in a multi-national diverse team of clinicians and support staff
• Proficient in English (both verbal and written)
• Patient centric care philosophy, empathetic with a genuine desire to make a positive difference in patient’s lives
• Demonstrate and articulate sound clinical knowledge, reasoning, critical thinking, judgment and decision making in the provision of Respiratory care
• Passionate about building a healthcare career, inspired to move ahead with challenges, possess a ‘can-do’ attitude, able to thrive in fast paced environment with high workload and acuity
• Preference for RTs with a minimal of 3 years extensive ICU experience in a sizable acute care hospital setting
• Preference for RTs with experience in medical, neuro, surgical, and coronary ICU settings
